A somewhat bizarre illustration for a childrens book ‘A Little Golden Book: Barrier Reef Adventures of Minus Five’ which is the book version of Australian TV show Barrier Reef (1971-72). Minus Five is ‘Mineral identification Nuclear Undersea Seismography.’ Serious stuff, as you can tell by the look on the three guys faces in the first picture. Illustrations are by Australian artist Walter Stackpool (Skippy, Australian Fishes, Ned Kelly)
